Today I am going to show you how to customize your Facebook fan page and create a memorable short URL that you can remember and that can be remembered by your community of followers.

Why should you do this, if you want to be perceived as a professional who knows what she/he is doing?

Exactly, why! That was pretty much a rhetoric question.

But here is the answer to it one more time.

Can you tell what’s the similarity and difference between the 2 links below?

OK, maybe the similarity is not that obvious, but if you click on the links they both take you to a Facebook Fan Page.

What is the difference?

One is memorable. Short and sweet. And Professional, and the other completely the opposite.

One gives your community of followers the perception that you know what you are doing and the other quite the opposite.

I believe this much convincing has been plenty enough. Now just watch the video, follow the steps and let me know in the comments area below what is you Sweet and Short Facebook Fan Page URL after you are done and have created it. :)

So that’s it. Hope that you already created your fan page after watching me showing you how at the video above.

In case you missed WHY you should get a Facebook Fan Page for your Business or just want it to really sink in I am going to spell out the 5 Reasons right now here below.

1. No Limit of Fans. Your Profile and Business Group of Facebook are limited to 5000 friends or 5000 followers in your Business Group. This number may seem big to some and possibly you right now, but if you think about it, when you begin creating a good presence online slowly as time goes by your tribe begins to grow. As a smart marketer you don’t want to limit that growth to just 5000 people.

When you hit that number you are going to have to deal with the limitations and be finding a solution for it, like encouraging all of your 5000 followers to now be moving onto following you somewhere else, for instance. So, what you want to do is deal with that limitation before it even happens.

Facebook Fan Pages are the great solution for your presence on Facebook and the Web as a whole, because there is no limit of the amount of fans you can have.

2. Facebook Fan Pages are public. That means that anyone even if they are not logged in to Facebook can land and be browsing through the valuable content you have on your Facebook Fan Page. For the most part everything you have on Facebook is behind a login, preventing the search engines from indexing the pages. However, Fan pages are not behind a login and thus search engines can index the page with your content. So, Facebook Pages are again your solution, because people can stumble across your Fan page on the search engines and find you that way, as it is indexed by Google and the rest of the search engines.  

3. Gives Your Website or Blog Backlinks. Because Facebook Pages are public when you talk about your blogs or websites, and include links to them you can get some nice search engine credit from Facebook.

4. Contact All Fans. With Facebook Fan Pages you can send “updates to fans” all at once whenever you want. On the opposite, your Facebook Profile has a limit and you have to select who you are sending your message to one at a time. So it’s really a nice way of building a relationship with your tribe when you use the Facebook Fan pages “updates to fans” instead. You can send messages about new products, updated website, your latest discussion, newest video training, etc.

5. Your new Fan’s News feed. When someone joins your business Fan page, the news about that get published in their News feed for all their friends to read (unless they have turned this off). It makes someone joining your Fan page somewhat viral and it attracts more fans to your page.

6. It’s free and easy. Making a Fan page takes just a few minutes, just like I showed you in the video above.

Last week I sent you an interview I conducted with Mike Klingler at the first Renegade Live Event. That event was the most amazing event I have been to, and one of the greatest experiences I have had in a long time.

In the interview you saw last week Mike answered one very burning question that’s on the mind of lots of people, entrepreneurs and not. And Mike did an outstanding job doing so and shared with you how you could truly feel secure in this unstable economy.

One thing that I realized when I asked Mike that question is that while many people will relate to what he had to say, and follow his expertise and advice, others won’t.

And that’s just the way it is. Others will want to find out more about it, or do their own research and look at it from all sides. And could this prevent them from taking advantage of the momentum of a huge movement that’s happening? Very much, so!

So what I decided to do, during the Renegade Live Event, is instead of just asking one industry leader for their expert advice I asked a few of them that same question I had asked Mike, to help people make their research here during these interviews.

And all of these great leaders gave their own unique answer.

I had a little communication back and forth through email with my client who was really eager to make progress with his business online.

He already had a few pieces of content out there, professionally projected videos and even an online community.

However, one thing that I could sense after talking to him on our first 15-minute free consultation and after looking over his content was that he was not completely clear on some of the main fundamentals. This was putting him in a risky position to really get bogged down with moving forward in the wrong direction.

One of the first things I wanted him to get clear on was “who is his target market”, then identify “what he is actually selling to his target market” so that he can start correctly on the path of monetization (i.e making money).

We all start from somewhere, with our own set of challenges. We ALL have our own story. What I hope to teach you today is how to model what I’ve done to guarantee you land where you’re wanting to go sooner, rather than later.

My story begins on August 29, 2005. It is a memorable date.

4 years ago I landed in America for the first time.

My first stop was Minneapolis, MN and then off to Portland, OR.

I was 20 year-old, with broken English, scared, insecure with not of the highest self-esteem. But with my adventurous spirit I was very curious to see what this land of opportunities could bring me.

A while back 4 years to me seemed like an eternity, like such a long time. But reflecting back on the last 4 years I feel that it’s been quite a short time for the fundamental changes I went through and the direction my life took on.

My skill level, attitude, confidence level, connection skills, listening skills, EQ (emotional quotient), knowledge, networking skills and income grew up by 670% in less than 4 years.

I want to reveal the secret to you of how that happened by sharing a set of events that took place that were a major contribution to this transformation.

Why? Because I know you are striving to creating change and creating a better future for you and your family by gaining financial freedom.

So, to sum it up:

Meeting Mike Klingler - the most influential person in my life as of this day, who not only made me believe in myself and that I can do anything I set myself to do, but empowered me and gave me the opportunities to develop, grow and contribute.

Getting introduced to the network marketing industry and the dream of being financially independent entrepreneur who does good things for the World.

Going through the intense periods of prospecting and cold calling and the whole flying to company and personal development seminars and events thing.

In 2007, getting introduced to attraction marketing and reading “The Renegade Network Marketer” by Ann Sieg. The book that changed the course of life and business not only for me, but for thousands of entrepreneurs out there.

Creating Renegade University at the end of 2007 and Renegade Professional by working closely with Mike Klingler and just a year after that Ann and Mike becoming business partners.

I feel truly fortunate to work closely with both of them now on a daily basis.

What’s interesting is that when I first arrived and landed in Minneapolis, MN Ann Sieg was living there at the time.

Who would have known that I would be a fundamental part of her team today? But you know the saying about “Nothing happens out of Coincidence, Everything happens for a reason” And I believe that this was no coincidence. 

I am writing to you today, sitting in my pj’s in my beautiful 1200 square feet loft in the heart of Portland, the nicest district - the Pearl.

My personal assistant works with me 5 days a week out of my loft.

I make no less than 5,100.00 each month in revenue and that’s at the low end.

I work with the best in the industry and am fortunate enough to not only have them as my mentors but also be a part of their inner circle.

Why am I sharing my story with you?

Well, first of all if you are reading this you are someone who wants to do great things in life. You are an entrepreneur at heart and you know that by creating financial freedom for yourself you can be of greater service to others.

However, you may be struggling right now with creating that situation for yourself, or there is something that is missing and you don’t know what it is.

I would like to share with you what I believe to be the biggest factors that allowed me to accomplish all of this in just four years and that would hopefully help you in someway and get you closer to your goals.

Change Your Environment

First, I realize that I might have had a slight advantage because by coming to the United States I changed my environment and everything that was influencing me so far by 100%.

My current circle of influence has nothing to do with my old circle of influence.

I got surrounded by individuals all of whom were more successful than I was, with bigger goals in life than any of my surroundings before that and thus instilled a desire for me to have bigger goals in life too.

I got surrounded by inspired leaders who I had something to learn from constantly and that was inspiring.

How Coachable Are You?

Of course, being coachable was a huge part of the deal. And I was very coachable. In fact, I still am and continue to be coachable.

Hard Work and Developing New Skills

Secondly, I work my ass off…I worked really hard, my business was my life, and my life was my business and it still is…When I did not work the leads, and spend time on marketing, I spend time studying, I immersed myself in education, personal development materials and developing new skills.

So again, why am I sharing this with you?

Because, I believe that you can change your situation, just like I did and do so in no time, just like I did.

How?

Your Next Step…

Look around you and evaluate your situation…Are there people currently around you that are less successful then you are, who don’t want to go where you do, don’t have the same goals as you do, but are influencing your life, decisions you make and actions you take?

I bet there are quite a few of them….

I would like to advice that you make a decision right now and in the next year ahead of you, limit the circle of people who influence you to only people who have something to teach you, are more successful than you are, are like minded and going in the same direction you are. (now if that’s your spouse or you have kids, I am not advising that you don’t communicate with them, but maybe let them know of your plans and ask them to be mindful of the changes you are partaking).

But don’t forget the very crucial ingredient…Being COACHABLE.

Maybe you never believed you are coachable.

But right now, you can decide that you are coachable! So, do it now! Make that decision. You can be, if you decide to.

Then find the right environment with the right circle of people….

I believe that the environment in Renegade Professional is the most nourishing and growth encouraging for any entrepreneur.

This is a comment response to the article Mike Klingler wrote at Better Networker titled: “I’ve Gotta Make This Work!” … Finding the Only Shortcut & Taking It

It’s always inspiring to read your masterpieces Mike and then to see everyone’s responses. I am hoping that you will write a book one day, and archive all the great wisdom that comes out of you for the future generations.

I read this article once and I felt like it was written just to me. :) I know, pretty selfish! :) But hey, I read it two more times and you know what I am sure I will be coming back to it quite a few more times. Why? Because every time I read it I keep learning and getting another bit of insight from it.

I have been your student for 4 years and definitely got more mentoring hours than any other of your students. I had the amazing pleasure to work with you on a daily basis, and learn from you all the time.

I got to listen to you sharing a vision and future plans and then I got to be a part of the execution of that vision…and we all know that what has already manifested is just the beginning…

It has always been inspiring and also fascinating to witness the creation of one vision after another materializing. It’s even more fascinating reflecting back on it right now, and realizing that this Essential List was an Essential Ingredient for the vision to become the reality it is and what it continues to become.

In the last 3 years you had definitely embraced the Essential List and I got to be there witnessing it. That realization by itself is a huge experience.

I am stoked about not only being a witness but having been able to play a major contributing role in the execution of the vision.

I am tremendously grateful that you saw a potential in me and helped me rise up. Where would I be today without your mentorship and guidance?

Well, the reason why I said I felt like this article was written to me, is because only lately I have been faced with the reality that through my stubbornness I have been perceiving hard work as my short cut…but this short cut has been failing on me recently. ☺

Don’t get me wrong…there is nothing wrong with working hard. But working hard and forgetting or ignoring this Essential list or some of the ingredients in it is what gets me in trouble.

I am so ready to keep growing and I know exactly which ingredient I need to focus on now to move past my current threshold of resistance (i.e being stubborn about believing that hard work by itself is a shortcut to success).

And that is – a keen insight (making the finer distinctions) and the ability to cultivate partnerships.

Also, I feel that by focusing on being able to communicate well the value that I bring to others is going to allow me to influence others as well. ☺ Which kind of allows for the whole list to get naturally completed…just like a puzzle.

So for those who did not read MIke’s article yet here is the “Essential List” most avoid making their number ONE priority in business:

Focus on Developing: 

• A Keen insight (making the finer distinctions)
• An ability to influence others
• An ability to choose the right opportunities for you
• An ability to create and communicate value
