Should You Track Results when using Free Traffic Exchange Programs?

Starting with Traffic Swarm and other Traffic Exchanges people ask the question - what’s a typical response rate from your traffic exchange? How long do you have to surf before you get one person opt-in to your list? How many till they buy?

Here is what my answer is to this question - I am not using Traffic Swarm and other Free Traffic Exchanges to build my entire Marketing strategy around. This is a resource that fits outside the typical conversion model. The stats are extremely important when you are doing PPC like on Google Adwords because you’ve got a lot of money going out, and you have to track them every second or you can loose you shirt.

But here it’s free, so the need to track your results becomes less imperative.

Still, it is useful to track your results so that you can learn which headlines and ad copy are pulling the best results.

However, you have to think outside of the box if you are using this seriously.

In other words, it’s not really worth your time to be fixated on the conversions as much as it is worth your time to track results so that you can learn better marketing.

To answer the question directly I am getting just under 1% from hits to conversion of people opting into my e-mail list. What percentage of them buys the book? I don’t know. I am not able to track that yet. The conversion of purchased books is not that important to my team, because it’s not the main reason why we are using it. We are using it to teach beginners.

But from about 200 people that we introduced it to, we got reports back from a very large number, a very well over 50 who are list building with it. And well over 25 who have sold ebooks.

More research can be done to satisfy the conversions specialists. But really what we are using this for is as a tool to get a beginner started, using the tools, to become comfortable with them, and to get some confidence seeing what it is like to be list building and selling an ebook or two. Once they are there we are able to introduce them to the more specialized stuff.

As far as how long you have to click before you get an opt in?

That could depend on if you are a free member or are a pro member, also could depend on if you have referred anyone, like I have. Sometimes I don’t click at all in a day and I get opt ins. But I earn credits from my referrals. A beginner will have to click much more than someone who has referrals or is a pro member.

If we are going about the stats we have - we get and opt in after clicking up to around 120 credits? There is a 15 seconds timer before you can click again. You earn between 1-5 credits usually on a click, although I have had times I get much more, even up to 500.

So, I am guessing based on what I know that it takes about 30 minutes of clicking?

However, it also will depend on the quality of your advertising.
